Never since Call of Duty 2 did I feel like a soldier. Authentic weapons , amazing gameplay , and a plot thats so real that you might think this war could happen tomorrow.

Never since Call of Duty 2 did I ever feel like a real soldier. Call of Duty 2 made WW2 seem as harsh as it really was , with certain scripted events like a fellow british rifleman attempting to knock down a door , only for him and the door to be chewed up by a German with an MG42. Now Infinity Ward is back , the creators of the COD 1 , 2 , and now 4. Dont even compare 3 to this game as it was made by a company with much less dev skill than Infinity Ward.

The game's single-player campaign is by far the BEST campaign ever made. After a quick tutorial , you are immediataly transported to hotspots around the world , like Russia and the Middle East. The first level starts you off as an S.A.S operator , whos team is inserted in the middle of the night by a Black Hawk helicopter onto a boat in the middle of the ocean. After breaking through the cabin , you literally get to kill a few people in their sleep , since its the middle of the night and even terrorists need to sleep. This adds to the startling realism that makes this game seem more like an interactive movie. Without ruining much of the story , lets just say theres a nice "package" down in the ships cargo hold that your team finds."Lets do this Marines"

Now certain levels in Call of Duty literally look like war footage from countries like Iraq. In one level in the First Act , called " War Pig" you are tasked with escorting an M1A2 Abrams Tank through narrow city streets. The realism here is frightening. Marines take mad dashes for cover , and you actually see their magazine thrown onto the ground , now thats fine attention to detail. Marines call out enemy positions , like roaring out "RPG on the rooftops!" or "Frag Out" and it seems like your playing with real people rather than AI. The enemies are the same too , they blindfire like untrained soldiers would , and at one point one of them closed a door , stuck his ak-47 out the crack , and madly fired his rifle. I dropped him with a few shots of my M4 by shooting him through the door. Oh wait , I forgot to mention , you can shoot through walls.

No longer is that thin sheet metal going to stop bullets like it was Master Chiefs armor. That just doesnt make sense. Now bullets can travel through walls , but realistically. Your not going to be able to fire off a 9mm pistol through some thick wood and expect the guy on the other side of the wall drop dead , but fire a larger bullet like that of an M4 or a desert eagle and youll be putting some serious hurt on the unlucky guy on the otherside.

Now the multiplayer. Its class based. ""Oh my , every other game iv eplayed is class based,  this is nothing new." Wrong. What other game have you ever played , where you can rank up to unlock other guns , camoflauge patterns , and scopes and silencers for them , all in a simple to use create a class system? Yup , got you there.

The system is quite easy. You have 3 abilities , called perks , that can do things such as give your more health , deeper bullet penetration through walls and surfaces , double the rate of fire , and my personal favourite , dropping a live grenade when you die , perfect for pwning those n00bs who decide to t-bag me after playing a little too much halo.

The multiplayer is also quite addicting once you start unlocking new guns. Your going to want to get that 100th kill with your sniper to unlock the Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight for that weapon , or that 75th headshot for that new camo pattern for the gun. Pack it all in a game where you shoot a guy , hes dead , none of that Halo BS of OMFG i shot him in the back so I deserve that kill , because really , in war, if a guy sees you first , your more than likely dead.

Is this the movie Black Hawk Down? No. Its CoD4

Now the Graphics. O-M-F-G. When I first played the desert level "Charlie Dont Surf" my friends were like "What movie are you watching" because they seriously thought I was watching Black Hawk Down. The textures are sharp , the specular light effects are amazing , and the HDR adds a nice shinyness to these polished graphics. You can even see the heat waves come off the back of the tanks engine in one of the levels. Long story short , hands down best looking 360 game I have ever played.

Overall , an excellent game that should be in EVERY 360 owners library. Infinity Ward FTW

Great review! It gave a lot of detail as to how awesome this game was.

I played it on the PC, but the game itself was pretty much the same. The only thing for me was the short length of the single-player game, but the multiplayer AWESOMENESS far made up for it in my opinion!

Yeah , I see what you mean. Its short , but sweet. Its really fun to play it again , cause it really never gets boring.

Online is sick. The classes/perks idea made this game awesome , I love using an g36c with a silencer , claymores , stopping power , and steady aim.
