Nothing but Graphics

So youve all heard of Crysis. Yeah , it has good graphics , but does it excel as a game?

Sort of. Its really just a mediocre FPS. You have a suit that gives you abilities like a cloak , super-speed , super-strength , and hardened armor. Apart from that , youre really just driving around killing all the Koreans you can find. No thank you.

The Gameplay is realistic though. The AI isnt spectacular but it does the job , and environment interaction is top notch. You can pick up a guy and throw him through a wall (see picture below) and watch the wall crumble as his body crumples like a sack of potatoes.

The multiplayer is also quite standard. When you buy Crysis : Warhead , you also get Crysis: Wars , the standalone multiplayer game. Its the same thing as Crysis , with basic deathmatch , capture the flag , and what not. But you cant use your suit powers , so this really is just a deathmatch game with nice graphics.

Yeah. It looks nice.

Well , the graphics are amazing. Its the best looking game on the market , but nothing can run the game at maximum settings. Even at current settings , it looks phenomenal. The palm trees sway , the faces are extremely detailed , the mountains look awesome , its almost like a virtual reality.

Really , I dont see what the rave is about , this is nothing but a benchmark to me.
